What's happening
Since Sept 29, Instagram has been checking links in Highlights, not just in bios. Every link provider is affected, and even some safe links got flagged. Flags have slowed down over the last few days, but they haven't stopped completly.
It's not only about the link
Instagram's AI looks at many signals together before restricting an account: your content, your interactions, your messages, your estimated niche, your account behavior. Adding a link is a significant action, so it can trigger extra checks. The link is one part of the picture, not the single reason an account gets flagged.
What a flag means
In most cases your account isn't banned. It just stops being recommended to non-followers (orange status). You can check it in Settings → Account Status. Removing the flagged link from your Highlights, bio and archived stories usually brings you back to green within a few hours or days.
Alternatives to try
🔔 Telegram channel: put your channel's invite link in your bio, and pin your GetAllMyLinks page inside the channel. You keep your stats, your geo-filters and the deeplink. That last one matters: without it, your fans open your links in Telegram's in-app browser, where they're not logged in like they would be in Safari or Chrome. We believe fans will get used to Telegram, and this setup could become the new standard.
🔁 Switch to a new custom domain. This is one of the most effective moves, and you can do it directly on GetAllMyLinks. There is no guarantee but a fresh domain gives you a clean start. It will results the same as if you were changing from a link provider to another.
📢 Instagram broadcast channel: pin your GetAllMyLinks page inside your Insta channel and share the channel in your stories or Highlights (you can create a channel from 1000 followers)
👥 Backup account: let a separate account hold your link, and mention it from your main account. Only use a different device, otherwise both accounts can be flagged. A lot of users still use that but it's risky and probably won't hold long term.
🔞 Keep the 18+ warning on for sensitive links, and consider setting your account's minimum age to 18+ in your professional settings.
✍️ Last resort: mention your X username, or link directly to your X profile, and keep your GetAllMyLinks page there.
