The Shield Protection Just Got Smarter

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Following the recent bans on Meta, we upgraded the shield protection

We know how frustrating it is when links get shadowbanned or flagged for no reason.

That’s why we rebuilt Shield Protection from the ground up.

After 18 months of research, testing, and real-world data, you now have an advanced security system designed to keep your links safer than ever while remaining compliant.

What is the shield protection?

Shield Protection is an advanced security layer for your links.

It automatically detects and blocks suspicious traffic before it reaches your page.

This means:

  • Bots are filtered out.

  • Suspicious behavior (e.g., low trust score VPNs, AI agents, compromised Wi-Fi networks) is blocked.

  • Only valid, trustworthy traffic reaches your content.

On average, 6% to 10% of traffic is filtered:

  • ~5% are bots or automated crawlers.

  • ~5% are suspicious patterns that almost never convert.

Think of it as Cloudflare-style protection, built directly into your links.

What’s new?

Our first version of Shield Protection was intentionally focused on masking and redirection.

But platforms have evolved, and AI is much more developed.

This updated version brings:

  1. Advanced traffic fingerprinting. We’ve enriched our detection layer by combining IP reputation and network-origin signals (datacenters, proxies, TOR) with user-agent anomalies and lightweight behavioral checks (like JS execution and timing). This lets us filter the majority of crawler traffic right at the edge.

Importantly, Shield Protection does not target VPNs directly, but since many datacenter and proxy IPs overlap with VPN providers, a small fraction of legitimate VPN traffic (around 4–6%) can be challenged. We continuously monitor that share in real time to keep it minimal and ensure genuine users are not impacted.

  2. Real-time decisioning with neutral responses. Every request is classified in milliseconds based on enriched fingerprinting. Real user traffic is passed through instantly, while bots are consistently served a standardized 404 page. This neutral response keeps the crawler unaware it was filtered, reducing scrutiny while keeping your destination fully hidden.

  3. Less friction for humans, more control for you. Returning visitors are fast-pathed via session/cookies to avoid repeat checks. You also get finer routing rules (geolocation) to shape who sees what, without weakening protection. All of this runs invisibly on the request path, tuned in real time from live telemetry.

It’s an evolution of our original system, rebuilt for long-term stability.

Why it matters for creators?

  • Protects your analytics → You only see real users, not noise.

  • Keeps your links safer → Helps reduce risks of shadowbans or restrictions.

  • Future-proof → Built to adapt to platform changes.

Losing 2–5% of suspicious visitors is nothing compared to losing your whole account.

Security before conversion.

Do I need to do anything?

By default, Shield Protection is available on all links.

You can turn it on or off at any time but we strongly recommend keeping it enabled, especially if you share links on social platforms that are strict.

Will it affect my visitors?

  • For real people → No. The system works invisibly and won’t interrupt normal browsing.

  • For bots, crawlers, or flagged traffic → Yes, they’ll be blocked before reaching your page.

  • In rare cases, 2–5% of visitors may be filtered, but these are usually suspicious sessions that almost never convert.

How to activate Shield Protection?

  1. Go to your link settings.

  2. Open Link Type.

  3. Toggle Shield Protection ON.

As in the screenshot below:

Key notes

  • Works on all links.

  • Blocks 6% to 10% of traffic on average.

  • Recommended for all social media platforms that are strict.

  • Can be disabled anytime, but we suggest keeping it enabled for maximum safety.

FAQ

Will Shield Protection block my real customers?

Rarely. These are bots, spams, or suspicious visitors that almost never convert. By filtering them, your analytics are more accurate, your reach is safer, and your content stays live longer. Think of it as cutting noise, keeping only real and valuable traffic.

Is this mandatory?

No. You can turn it on/off anytime. But we strongly recommend it if you share links on social platforms that are strict.

Does this slow down my link?

No. Everything runs invisibly in the background.

Why should I trust this?

Because it’s built on 18 months of real-world data and optimized for today’s platform rules.
